Kenny's Last Day of 2nd Grade

Kenny learned SO MUCH in 2nd Grade thanks to Mrs. Leonard!  He started out reading beginner level books and now reads chapter books!  His handwriting has improved so much, and he rocks at math!

SNOWY Star Wars Birthday Party

We celebrated Kenny & Sam's 8th birthday with grandparents and a few friends!
The theme was Star Wars. We turned the foot of snow that fell 2 days before the party into snow forts for the kids to play in.  What a hit!
Princess Leia (Stella) and John hiding out.
The days following the party the boys repurposed the forts into a little village complete with branches sticking out of the snow to create a tree perimeter.  They dragged all the inside tents outside and used boxes from the new gazebo for buildings.

Jacob & John's Kindergarten Graduation

We are so proud of how much Jacob has learned this year in Kindergarten!  He loves math, has learned so much in reading and writing, and is a great friend!  And oh how we will miss teacher Mrs. Belitz!
John has become an amazing writer over the last year.  He has a great sense of self and especially loved all the art projects this year.

Ms. Kathy was the kindergarten Education Assistant.  She helped Jacob on his Ball Words over the year.

Mother's Day 2017

What a beautiful Mother's Day!  I loved getting spoiled by my crew.  Pierre Michel's breakfast in bed, flowers, cards.....
We did our favorite hike to Devil's Head Lookout in the afternoon.

SNOW!  What?  Little did we know that a foot of snow was headed our way later this week.
We made it to the lookout and were thrilled to see the longtime ranger Bill!  In his mid-80's and still on the lookout for fires.  There was a fire, so we got to see the smoke and hear lots of radio chatter while in the tower.  We finished off the day with dinner at Texas Roadhouse--and a great night's sleep:-)

Kenny's Dart Warz Birthday

Oh my.....four 2nd grade boys in addition to our crew of 3 made for a loud and obnoxious birthday celebration for Kenny.  We picked the boys up from school and headed home to fuel up on pizza before heading to Dart Warz.

AWANA Awards Ceremony

The boys had a great 1st year in AWANA!  Kenny completed one book (ribbon) and most of a second book!  He'll be moving up to T&T next year as a 3rd grader:-)
Jacob and John each completed book 1 and a review--EXTRA CREDIT!  They can't wait to tackle book 2 next year.

The weather was perfect for field day--sunny and not too warm!  The day started with the Fun Run!  Here's the 2nd grade waiting to start.

Clearwater Beach Baby!

This chess board was as popular as the ocean!  We had to stop here for a game on every trip to/from the ocean!
Cabana cuddles and a selfie with Kenny
Jacob worked hard on this sand castle!

John catching a wave with help from Daddy
Kenny loved fighting the waves--can you guess who won?

Take Your Kid's to Work 2017

These three were engineers for a day at Lockheed Martin!  But nobody came home wanting to be an engineer when they grow up!?  They did love going to breakfast with their Daddy and helping him run tours of the virtual reality lab.
