So tired!

We've been having a go-go, fun-filled, first week of summer.  Kenny couldn't cut it today.  I finished putting Jacob & John down for nap and then couldn't find Kenny.  Then I noticed a lump under the blanket on the floor.  He slept there for 2 hours!  Ha ha....what a funny boy:-)

Kenny's last day of preschool

Kenny's last day of preschool was yesterday.  It was a bittersweet end to a great year.  Kenny loved his teacher, Miss Eryn.  The class celebrated with an ice cream party and I managed to not shed any tears.  My emotions caught me off guard, but I realized we weren't likely to see his favorite classmate (Jake) again, since his family moved and he'll be attending a different preschool next year.  I better brace myself for the coming years!

 Oh my....nice weather is finally here and the summer fun has begun! 

 We have a 5 gallon bucket filled with water and water guns. 

 We're the proud new owners of a bounce house (how can you pass that up for $32 at a garage sale?:-).

And we have an entire package of dollar store sunglasses, so we are officially ready for fun in the sun!

Super Heroes in the House

 May is full of birthday's in Kenny's preschool class.  He finally had his turn to wear the birthday crown yesterday.  They sing "Happy Birthday to you...Cha cha cha....Happy Birthday to you....cha cha cha":-)

 John wasn't into wearing any hats, but he was sure into smiling and having his picture taken!

 Kenny's best friend Keegan gave him an Iron Man mask and arm shooter.  It's his prized possession!

Happy Mother's Day!

Ugh....fingerprints on camera lens:-(  Maybe it's an artistic take on a traditional mother's day picture??  We had a nice day.  I was craving sushi, so Darin cleaned up the boys for dinner out (including taking on Kenny's rubber firefighter boots and demanding he change into nice shoes for dinner:-).  On the drive to the restaurant, Kenny said, "I want to go to Army's (Arby's)".  Darin told him it was Mother's Day and I wanted sushi.  Kenny responded with, "But I'm the birthday boy!".  Two weeks of birthday celebration has officially gone to his head!

 Aaahhhhh....the week of birthday celebrations came to an end today with Kenny's "friends" party this morning.  A space theme wouldn't be complete without a space cake!

 The kids had a great time throwing bean bags in the "black hole" (cornhole game), bouncing in the antigravity zone (our trampoline), and launching nerf rockets. 

 Lunch was rocket dogs (hotdogs on a stick wrapped in a crescent roll), space rocks (balled fruit), and asteroids (cheese puffs).  Lunch was followed by a moon rock hunt (think easter egg hunt, but instead of eggs we hid starburst balled up in aluminum foil). 

 It was such a fun party!  But are we glad it's over.  It was tough putting on a party the morning after the Zac Brown Band concert!!

 Kenny turned 4 today!  It ended up being a crazy, fun day; unexpected playdate with best friend Keegan, birthday card & MONEY from Grandma Bolthouse (above);

 birthday card and MONEY from Uncle Andrew and Aunt Jenna; ice cream at DQ;

the complete set of Transformer Rescue Bots from Mom & Dad.  We had one happy boy on our hands today:-)
