Babies on the Move!

John is 10 months old!

Our sweet John is such a fun 10 month old!  He's not as frustrated as Jacob--just enjoying life and learning mobility in a laid-back way.  He has great crawling form and is doing great feeding himself.  John likes to savor his food and takes about twice as long to eat as his brother.  John's finally sleeping through the night consistently too.  He loves "talking" and giving love to his brothers, Darin and I.  John's sweet, intuitive personality is a wonderful part of our family!

Jacob is 10 months old!

Jacob is a rambunctious, on-the-go 10 month old.  He's into everything and seems talented at honing in on things especially not meant for him!  Jacob has just started letting go of whatever is holding him and standing on his own for a few seconds.  He's also clapping and waving.  Jacob is our bottomless pit.  He LOVES feeding himself.  We've done pretty much everything but sweets with him.  He still gets excited to hear the box of Cheerios/can of Puffs shake:-)  We love our little brute!

J & J are 10 months old!

Jacob & John are 10 months old now.  What a fun age--fully mobile, crawling, pulling up.....and in training to be future wrestlers.  I swear I spend half my day playing referee and screaming "BE GENTLE!!!".  Of course with learning mobility comes the falls, bumps and bruises too.  I'll be more than ready to trade that in for the next stage:-)

Happy Birthday Darin!

Happy 38th birthday to Darin, our wonderful husband/father.  We spent the evening reminiscing over being young and free in our 20's.  Not that we would change a thing:-)  We had a chaos-filled dinner at home on Friday, and escaped on Saturday night for a dinner in downtown Denver.

Backyard Video

Playing in the yard:-)

Yes...hate to brag, but it's true....we were hanging out in the backyard today, January 23, without coats!  How we love Colorado winter:-)

Lego Mania!

Football Friday!

Friday's finally here!  Jacob & John were in Tebow camp this morning...sure to be future football stars!  (Jacob as a lineman and John as QB??:-)

Kenny's Serenade

Kenny LOVES Winnie the Pooh right now....especially the latest movie that has come out.  Part of the movie has a "bad guy" called the Backson.  He's obsessed with it.....goes around the house trying to catch it....sings the Backson song from the movie.  It's our favorite entertainment at the moment:-)

John & Kenny's Wednesday Play

John loves standing up by our leather foot stools....and Kenny LOVES play-do.  I think he was making spaghetti on this occasion:-)

A couple of cute firemen....

This little firetruck is a hot commodity in our house these days.  Jacob and John can only reach one foot to the floor at a time, but they are starting to move it.  Kenny usually jumps on and increases the speed (and danger) dramatically.

Kenny & Jacob working on computers

Kenny spent at least an hour this afternoon carrying his "computer" around and flying on airplanes.  Jacob had his own computer too--the two were quite the power pair!:-)

Friday Fun!

It was a mild winter day here...perfect for getting outside with the boys. All three loved being pulled on the sled. Mommy was the first to tire of it:-) Jacob & John really enjoyed sitting and "playing" in the snow too.

Gunslinger & Babies

That's right....Kenny the Gunslinger is in town. J&J were confined to the storage cubes for their own protection. Kenny enjoys the gun so much, but always ends up in trouble when playing with it
? It's on top of the fridge now....and may be headed for the trash can!

Jacob is trying to pull up!

The spindles turned into a gym for Jacob this morning. He was entertained by them for a full 30 minutes, and was trying his best to pull himself up. It won't be long now....

Kenny is a great big brother!

Kenny is such a happy boy and great big brother! Now that his brothers are mobile, he helps coral them (tackling or pulling them by the legs!?) He had such fun with this Christmas season. He loved doing the daily advent ornament, opening presents at our 3 different Christmas's (Iowa, Colorado and Michigan), and learning some Christmas classics. The flight attendant was amazed at his ability to belt out "Jingle Bells" (he's not the least bit shy with his singing:-). Frosty the Snowman is another favorite!

John's 9 Months Old!

Our sweet & sensitive boy is officially 9 months old. John's had a busy month of cutting teeth--he has a total of 6 (4 top, 2 bottom). He still loves the bottle more than solids, but LOVES puffs! John has finally started sleeping through the night--what a blessing! He loves standing up and "marching" whether it's in the exersaucer or standing next to furniture. John is able to get from sitting to tummy and makes great backwards movements. He's yet to master moving forward, which he finds very frustrating as he ends up stuck in interesting places. We love our little John!

Jacob is 9 Months Old!

Jacob is 9 months old and ON THE MOVE! He has the army crawl down, can stand up with the help of furniture, and is almost standing on his own! He is so strong and determined. He's mainly interested in anything not meant for him--ha! Jacob loves solids--especially finger food that he can feed himself. He's finicky about the bottle--pushing it away in annoyance unless he's starving. He's still a great sleeper, but needs peace and quiet to do it. We were very thankful for the extra seat with the infant carrier on our recent plane rides since he's not a cuddler. Jacob is sure to be our independent,
adventurous son!!
We were sad to leave Michigan, but looked forward to having Grandma & Grandpa Erb visit over the long New Year's weekend. They enjoyed the mild temperatures with lots of outside play and swinging. Grandpa's idea of babysitting included coraling John in the big red toy bucket---hhhmmmm!? We were sad to see them fly back to Iowa today (they were hoping to be back in time to caucus!).

Hanging with the Michigan Grandmas

The boys were able to spend lots of quality time with Grandma Bolthouse. Play play play was the agenda for each day....with lots of popsicle breaks of course:-) We also had a great visit with Great Grandma Gronda. Aunt Elaine and Grandma Bolthouse were bribing Kenny with candy for a smile!
