Norwegian Lessons

Grandma Whattoff and her sister Marcie are "110% Norske" as Grandpa would say. So it seemed only appropriate to capture them speaking their native language. I wonder if Kenny feels as lost listening to us speak English??

Other Iowa Pictures

The 10 days passed much too quickly. They were filled with coffee (and jumping)every morning, reading time with Aunt Laura in the afternoon, and lots of rocking with Great-Grandmas & Grandpas.

Pat & Steph's Wedding

We had another Erb Family wedding. I didn't get any pictures of THE happy couple, but there were quite a few happy couple's I did capture. Kenny loves hanging out with his Uncle Andrew. (Could he be showing off for his girlfriend Jenna?). Uncle Nathan and Kenny finally started enjoying each other during this trip as well. (Kenny won Nate over with a big smile after nap one day). Nate's girlfriend Carly must be impressed by his baby skills (though diaper changing is yet to be mastered!).

Kenny's 1st Iowa State Fair

This is an unbelievable year for weather! Who would have thought we'd have to bundle up to go to the Fair? We still had a wonderful time, and Kenny was a perfect baby (he survived a 12-hr day at the Fair:-). Grandpa Erb did most of the hard labor carrying him around. We stopped for pictures in the flower garden outside of the Agriculture Building and couldn't pass up a picture with the largest pumpkin too! Thanks for taking us to the Fair Grandma & Grandpa!!

Iowa Hiking

Kenny and I just returned from a 10-day trip to Iowa. It was wonderful to have so much time to spend with the Erb & Whattoff clans:-). The first thing we did when we got back was to hike the Lost Lake trail at the Ledges. Grandpa Erb carried Kenny in the backpack, which meant Grandma Erb had to be in charge of throwing the sticks for the dogs. It was a great way to spend a cool August morning!

Ride 'em Cowboy

Aunt Caroline sent Kenny a cowboy hat, so of course I couldn't resist a little photo shoot! Kenny started enjoying himself more once he found the string:-) Oh what simple things bring endless entertainment. Thanks for thinking of us Caroline!

Cruisin' Woodward

This weekend was the Woodward Dream Cruise. We ventured into the chaos for a couple of hours. Kenny slept most of the time, but that didn't stop Darin from getting a picture with his son and his favorite hotrod!

Dave & Ryann's Visit

Our good friend Dave brought his daughter Ryann over to visit Kenny this afternoon. Ryann loved all of Kenny's stuffed animals and promptly arranged them in the swing....something I doubt Kenny would ever think of:-) It was fun to spend some time with them and introduce them to our little man!

Finger Sucking!

I sucked these same two fingers as a baby (ok--I didn't give it up until early elementary--shhhhhh;-). It's so funny to see Kenny picking up this same habit. One good thing is that unlike the pacifier, we never have to worry about being without his soothing mechanism.

A day in the life of Kenny....

Kenny has a rough life....so many skills to develop....it's just exhausting:-) I got bored yesterday, so found myself snapping lots of photos documenting the day. All I can say is thank goodness for naps!

Weekend Fun

We had a wonderful weekend. Kenny spent lots of quality time with G&G Bolthouse while Darin and I participated in a charity golf outing on Saturday and went to the Tigers game on Sunday. Frank & Mandy braved the heat with us on Sunday. We were thankful for seats in the shade! It was wonderful to spend the afternoon catching up with our dear friends (without the interruptions kids provide:-).

Summer Cold:-(

I thought Kenny was turning into a super-sleeper since I had to wake him after 12 hours. Turns out he has a cold. Looks like I'll have lots of free time around the house today while he sleeps it off.

Tummy Time Troubles

Kenny and I have been in a stand-off over tummy time. He hates it, but I know he needs it. So we've found a compromise that satisfies us both--naked tummy time:-)

Afternooon Workout

After a day of laying around, Kenny and I needed a workout. I squeezed him into the front carrier and we headed out for a stroll. He weighs 15 lbs now--needless to say we didn't stroll too far:-)
