Columbus Getaway

Darin has been traveling to Columbus for work recently. Kenny and I joined him for a night at the hotel before visiting friends Brandon & Julie who live in the area. (Hotel mornings are always a little rough)....

Kenny had a great time playing with Helen and loved all the new toys! (A sand table is at the top of our purchase list for spring:-)

We spent Friday at the zoo (sorry--no pictures), and Saturday at the apple orchard. It was a see of red (Ohio State fans--not the apples:-), but we still enjoyed the experience. Kenny was sampling many of the fallen apples.

Thanks for having us Brandon, Julie & Helen! We had so much fun with you guys!!

Water Boy

It was in the mid-80's today--yay for indian summer! Kenny wanted to play with the hose, so I encouraged him to water my flowers. He alternated between the flowers, himself, the cat and the swing.

Drumming Fool

Darin has a log he uses as a base to split smaller logs. Kenny loves using it as a drum. Of course it's fall...and using the rake for leaves would be so much more helpful:-)

Niagara: Day 2

We awoke on Sunday morning to clouds and cool weather. We decided to stick to the top of the falls today. Here's the view from our hotel room--amazing! And Kenny and I standing atop Horshoe Falls (He's much happier today:-). What a fun, quick trip! The only thing we missed was walking behind the falls!

Maid of the Mist

After checking into our hotel and taking a nap, we headed down to ride the Maid of the Mist. Kenny was not a fan, from the minute he had to wear the blue poncho, but he completely lost it as we were standing on the top deck of the boat in the monsoon of the Horshoe Falls. We retreated to the lower deck and ended the trip wet, but with smiles. Darin and I wonder if we're bad parents....hopefully Kenny won't be traumatized by the experience!?

Niagra Falls....the Lame Fort

We arrived in Niagara at 10AM on Saturday, hoping for an early checkin. Our room wasn't ready, so we took a drive along the river road and took in the many sites Niagara has to offer. We were suckered into the silly British Fort. It cost far too much and was lame. Skip it if you're ever in the area!

Go Cyclones!

Despite the loss to the Hawkeyes this weekend, we still love our Cyclones! Melanie gave Kenny two cute Cyclones shirts. We practice the fight song every time Kenny wears them! Thanks Melanie--Go State!

Spoiled in Iowa

Kenny had a 10-day vacation in Iowa (4 of which didn't include Mom & Dad!). Kenny's favorite part of the time had to be the dog, Jake. They were great buddies (Jake was only in it for the food, I'm sure:-). Grandma & Grandpa came in a close second! Thanks for all the fun and love!
