Grand Finale

No visit to the fair would be complete without a trip down the big slide. It was Kenny's first time, and he loved every second. When he and Darin reached the bottom, Kenny jumped up and tried to walk back up the slide!

Tired little babies...

There's a separate building for all of the baby farm animals. Kenny wanted to get in and cuddle with the calf and the chicks! The excitement finally overtook him though...and he was out like a light....while the rest of us enjoyed some Ragtime Piano in Pioneer Pavilion.

Playing Around

I never realized how many kids play areas the fair offered until this year. Ha! How life has changed:-) Even the rain couldn't keep Kenny off of this wooden train playground.

The Barns

It's no surprise that there are lots of livestock barns at the State Fair! Kenny LOVED seeing all the animals. The pig seemed especially fond of Kenny too:-)

Green's our favorite color!

All three boys seemed to love the John Deere exhibit at the Iowa State Fair!

SQUEEZE in!

Kenny loves emptying containers and trying to squeeze into them. The Lego box worked pretty well--although it was hard to get out!

Relaxing? Evening

Corn King

We head back to Iowa next week for a visit, so the race is on to master Kenny's corn eating skills. He seemed to do pretty well tonight...and loved every bite!

Sticks

Kenny has been a fan of sticks for quite some time, but it turned into an all out obsession today. He refused to be parted with the sticks and wanted to go into the house with them. It took us an hour and a bribe of cheese!

Triking Kenny

Darin's co-worker has been so generous over the last year. His latest donation to the Kenny fun-fund were two trikes (with handles for Mom & Dad to keep control) and a Radio Flyer wagon. We've been having lots of fun with the tricycle! Thanks Bjarke & family:-)

Water Boy

Gronda Family Reunion

We had the Gronda Family Reunion today. The weather was perfect, and there was lots to occupy Kenny....namely the bins filled with iced down beverages. He just couldn't get enough and enjoyed his audience! We didn't get a picture of him falling in head-first though. He didn't seem to enjoy his first "polar bear plunge":-)
