Chugga Chugga CHOO CHOO!

We ventured up into the mountains today for a lunch of our favorite Beau Jo's pizza and then a ride on the Georgetown train (a historic steam engine). We didn't realize that the cars were all open air. Thank goodness the sun was shining, because snowflakes were flying! We had a great time--wonderful mountain views and a squeeling Kenny the whole way:-)

Sunday Outing

Sunday took us back to our favorite spot so far--hiking among red rock boulders just 15 minutes from our house! We were better outfitted this time with a backpack for Kenny. Aunt Laura was also along to help carry a baby. We completed our first hike as a family of 5--YAY! And with no whining from Kenny:-)

Saturday Exploring

We spent Saturday exploring another park. We were hoping for a hike by a mountain stream, but ended up hiking above the stream. Kenny spent part of the time being carried in the backpack and part of the time walking and whining, "Carry me!". Our saying for the day was "man up kenny":-)

J&J Lounging

We were lounging around on Thursday afternoon, and I snapped these couple of pictures. John & Jacob were content to lay on the blanket while Kenny created a whirlwind of activity around them.

Kenny Antics

No picture...just a cute story from our trip to the library today. A little girl Kenny's age was trying to play with him. He was completely frustrated with her presence and kept saying, "Go away! Go away!". Wish I had it on video for when he's 16 and girl crazy:-)

Our new pet....

....well not really:-) Our rental house came with a big stuffed leopard (that's right...there are only 4 spoons...but we have a stuffed leopard!?:-). Kenny LOVES it. My only hope for a picture with him was to include the leopard. Ha ha...whatever works!

John's 2 Month Pictures

John was the last one up this morning. I thought for sure I'd be snapping pictures through his crying, but he surprised me and was happy for his photo session! John's smiles aren't quite as photogenic as Jacob's, but he too was talking and cooing for the camera.

Jacob's 2 Month Pictures

Jacob awoke happy as a lark this morning. A full tummy and clean diaper was all he needed to be ready for his 2 month photo shoot. He cood and laughed the whole time!

Our first Colorado weekend...

We had a great weekend. Saturday morning took us hiking (if a .5 mile walk constitutes a hike:-) at Falcon Mountain followed by lunch in Evergreen. Sunday morning was filled with lounging (Kenny & John watched some cartoons together:-). After nap we headed to hike around the marvelous red rock formations.

Rainy Day Song

Rainy Day Ramblings

RAINY day here--thunder...lightning...and hail! We've been camping out inside. Kenny decided to crawl into the gym with John--too funny!

New Bathtime Routine

We've gotten into a new bathtime routine around here. Kenny and John take the first shift, Kenny stays in while Jacob takes a turn, then gets out and Jacob wraps up the bath on his own. Kenny has been great to share his toys and help wash his brothers, and Jacob and John have been VERY patient with getting splashed! It's giving me a little peak into the future--what fun we'll have!

Monday Mania

Happy Birthday Serenade

Our Temporary Home

We're temporarily settled in our rental home. It's a 60's era house, with the original range in the kitchen!? We are enjoy the large space and views though!

Meeting the Iowa Great Grand Parents

I'm so blessed to have all of my Grandparents living and treasured the chance to introduce Jacob and John to theses amazing individuals. None of them were up for changing diapers though!?:-)

Meeting the Aunties

We had all of the Whattoff Great Aunts over for coffee and to meet the babies. It was a fun morning with lots of cuddling!

John's Latest News

John has matured so much in the last couple of weeks. He's not the finicky little newborn who constantly frowned anymore! He still is quite vocal when he's not completely satisfied, but we've seen a few smiles too! He's eating as much as his brother, but seems to have inherited the Bolthouse "tall skinny gene" as Darin likes to call it:-) John still has most of his dark hair from birth. His eyes are looking dark too. It looks like he's going to be our little Indian boy!

Jacob's Update

Jacob continues to be a sweet, smiling baby. He's cooing and loves laying on his back with toys hanging overhead. Jacob is definitely going to be our little football player. He's as solid as a linebacker (sorry I don't know his current weight). His new hair is finally coming in, so he's looking more like a baby and less like an old man. Eyes are looking pretty blue--we'll see if that lasts!?
