Firefighter Kenny

Kenny is obsessed with firefighters lately...no surprise given all the drama surrounding the CO wildfires!  He's been wearing his firefighter helmet everywhere (even to Lifetime!), and busted out the boots this afternoon.  It's all quite entertaining for me...especially as I listen to him "rescue" Tigger and "evacuate" Piglet (he loves Winnie the Pooh too:-).

Back in business!

The faucet on my "best garage sale find ever" stopped working within 24 hours of arrival.  After multiple tinkerings and new batteries, it seems to be working again!  YAY!!

Staying cool in the pool!

It's been hotter than hot around here...so Darin and the boys decided to get a pool over the weekend.  Kenny LOVES it....and Jacob & John seem to be content to steer clear (thank goodness:-).  After mowing on Sunday, Darin gave it a try too...which completely thrilled Kenny!

Bottle Addicts

Jacob & John LOVE their bedtime bottle....and I just can't bring myself to deprive them (or me:-) of that joy!  So we're still in the bottle business around here....oh well....

Gma & Gpa's Colorado Vacation

We hijacked a couple of Grandma & Grandpa's vacation days:-)  Kenny loved having a full-time attendant to service his matchbox cars racetrack. Darin was happy to have some help with landscaping projects.  Sarah was happy to be able to get out of the house alone.  Jacob & John were happy to have EVERY book read to them before nap:-).

There's a plumber in the house!

I don't suppose this view will be quite so sweet in 20 years:-)

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Guess who can climb up on the step stools now.  Lord help me!

Darin's weekend project

Darin had 6 tons of rock delivered on Friday, which had to be shoveled into buckets, hauled to the back yard on a dolly, and lifted up on top of the rock wall to be dumped out & raked.  He's nearly finished with the project and took this picture.  I thought it was of the boys, but after seeing it, I'm thinking it was of all the rock he hauled!?

Our little climber....JACOB!

Our playset in the back yard has a raised "playhouse" with a ladder leading up to it and slide down.  I never dreamed I'd need to childproof the ladder.....until I found Jacob on the 2nd rung yesterday.  He's climbing up on anything and everything now....and completely thrilled about it.  The amazing thing is that John is the one with all the bumps & bruises--go figure!?

Sleepy Head Jacob

It's 8:15 AM & both J's are still sleeping!  Jacob is such a happy guy, that he often lays awake sucking his fingers until I go in to get him up.  I went in this morning to check, and he was still out, but the fingers were in the mouth and butt in the air.  What a cutie!

Kenny's Ice Cube Service

I explained hail as "ice cubes falling from the sky", which made Kenny want to collect the hail and bring it inside (no doubt for chilled beverages!?:-).

CRAZY storms!

This is what I opened the patio door to this morning.  We had huge storms from about 9PM to 1AM.  The hail was the grand finale.  I can't imagine how much there was initially--this is what was left a 7AM.  The painted window surrounds on the East side of the house took a major hit--I guess I'll be getting my paint brush out.  And my mint was a bumper crop until this too.  Boo hoo....actually thankful that there wasn't any worse damage!

Wednesday night "popping"!

Darin brought home some bubble wrap from work.  The boys had a ball with it!  Poor John didn't weigh enough to pop any of the bubbles, but he kept trying!

Working Hard!

We really are working hard this weekend....despite how these pictures may look:-)  My friend & I had a garage sale yesterday morning.  I was thrilled to get rid of ALL the baby gear, but have tons of clothing left.  Darin has been tackling some landscaping maintenance--shoveling rock uphill--ha ha--I'm happy to be dealing with the garage sale:-)  About every 2 minutes Kenny says, "Let's take a break Daddy!".
