Most of our leaves are down, which means the rakes are out in full force! We need to invest in a few more....only two rakes means 1-2 whining boys:-) By next year, maybe Darin and I can sit back and relax while the boys do all the labor!?

Pumpkin Carving
We had a fun time carving our pumpkins! Kenny stuck with cleaning out his pumpkin like a champ. John was the most unproductive....he was either trying to eat the insides or was scooping the goop in with the separated seeds. Jacob seemed to grasp the process, but his motor skills couldn't quite keep up!
After carving was complete in the backyard, we had a pumpkin moving ceremony with the wagon. Too funny!
The finished product....3 jack-o-lanterns and 3 happy boys. Bring on Halloween:-)

Kenny's Candyland Cake
Kenny is obsessed with a kids' food magazine my Mom gave him this spring. On their last visit they made the swimming pool cake together (think blue jello in a dug-out cake). This time they made the Candyland Cake. Probably not Grandma's pick for a birthday cake, but very memorable nonetheless:-)
Catching Up....St. Mary's Glacier with G & G Erb!
It's been a busy week, and I'm just now getting around to posting these pics from hiking to St. Mary's Glacier with my parents. Not sure what we were thinking....see all the snow! We bundled up and the sun and hiking warmed us up. We didn't venture all the way to the glacier this time around. The winds were gusting and the lake seemed a perfect destination. Everyone enjoyed the morning....and the Beau Jo's pizza afterwards:-)
Fall Festival
We had a fun morning at the Mothers Of Multiples Fall Festival. The J's dressed as lions and Kenny as a firefighter. The highlight of the day was the bouncing blob--all 5 of us were on it at one point:-) Kenny loved the spider man balloon sculpture from the balloon man. And Jacob, Kenny and I enjoyed a little ride in the barrel train (Darin's long legs prevented he and John from riding:-( It's put us all into the Halloween spirit. Can't wait to carve pumpkins tomorrow!

Denver Zoo
We made our first trip to the Denver Zoo with Grandma Erb. It was a perfect day. The weather was mild, animals active, and our 3 little monkeys seemed to especially into the actual monkeys:-) Can't wait to go back!
Buddies
It's been a fun couple of weeks around here with lots of visitors! The result seems to be extra attention for the boys....and more time as buddies and less as adversaries!:-) Let's hope the trend continues!

Jacob & John's 18 Month Stats
We took the J's for their 18 month check-up on Friday. They're doing great! Jacob is up to 32.75" (53%) and over 24 lbs (47%). John increased his stats to 32.5" (46%) and ALMOST 22 lbs (15%). They each got 2 shots, and I was relieved to learn they won't get any more until they're 4! HURRAY!
Weekend Visitors!
Our friends Melanie & Karl visited over the weekend from Milwaukee. We had such a great time! The guys took in an audio conference on Friday while Melanie and I had the boys, then we ditched all the testosterone for a girls' night:-) We took the whole crew to Red Rocks on Saturday. The weather was chilly, but we managed to get our hike in before the rain started. Saturday night included an awesome meal at Sushi Den. Nothing like a weekend filled with good friends, good food and good wine. Now to the gym to undo the effects of all the fun!

Secret Hideout Fort Update
Darin and Kenny have been spending the last couple of weekends working on the "secret hideout fort" as we've come to call it. I want to add portholes on hinges to each side....Darin thought that sounded like a job for Grandpa Erb:-)
Our Bush is Burning!
I LOVE burning bushes. We have one in our backyard and its beauty makes me want to plant about 10 more! I talked the boys into taking pictures by it....talking up the fire aspects:-) It almost held their attention!
