We had a yummy Memorial Day dinner on the patio.  It had to include sweet corn:-)  Jacob & John's first try at it...and they both went for the end of the cob!?  I guess we have some teaching to do as the summer progresses!

Lair of the Bear!

We had a fun outing to Lair of the Bear park.  There was the perfect trail that followed the mountain creek.  I have a feeling we'll be here often in the coming years--especially once the boys are big enough to play in the water:-) 

Best $5 I ever spent:-)

My girlfriend, Kristen, and I had an indulgent morning of Starbucks and garage saling ALONE.  After 30 minutes, we completely filled her SUV and had to stop back at our house to drop stuff off!:-)  I spent $30--and two of my best finds were this Step 2 play sink (the water recirculates from the tub up through the faucet), and this Lincoln Logs castle.  Each were $5--and have each been a great payback already!

Rainy Wednesday Afternoon

Kenny was busy reading on the sofa, so Jacob, John & I took some books out to the porch to read in the rain:-)  The J's quickly turned to rock play, and I checked on Kenny to find this.  Yes, it's 5PM--and I can't seem to wake him!  Bound to be an interesting night....

Circus! Circus!

The old-fashioned, big top circus came to Highlands Ranch over the weekend.  We decided that Jacob & John weren't quite old enough, so Darin and Kenny ventured out alone.  They had a great time--the elephants were a big hit.  Amazing to me that our little burb brought this in--but that's why we live here:-) 

Kenny's 3 Yr Check-up Stats

I can't believe that Kenny is 3!  My new favorite parenting quote is, "The days are long, but the years are short."  How true!  Darin took Kenny to his 3-yr check-up.  They did great (it was a little weird not to be in on it!).  Kenny is 39.75" tall (89%) and weighs 30 lbs (31%).  The doctor wanted Kenny to draw a circle (the developmental check), and tried to show Kenny how he should hold the pen.  Of course our little Mr. Know-It-All wasn't having any of it and drew the circle the way he wanted.  Ha ha....

Jacob & John get one more birthday gift:-)

Jacob & John (and Kenny) were thrilled with the birthday presents from Uncle Todd & Aunt Deanna!  Kenny helped unwrap and quickly took control of the new toys:-)  It's great that John & Jacob are getting more toys of their own...it gives them bargaining chips when playing with Kenny--ha ha!

Grandma & Grandpa Erb's Visit

 We had a fun-filled weekend with Grandma & Grandpa Erb!  Kenny loved opening his box of birthday gifts...and managed to con Grandma into making the swimming pool cake he found in a kids food magazine. 
Darin & Sarah loved sleeping in in the mornings:-)  Thanks for coming to visit Grandpa & Grandma!

Birthday Party with Keegan

We had our good friends, the Jasperson's, over on Saturday for a little birthday party.  Kenny and Keegan especially loved the pinata:-)  We have 5 boys between our two families--the coming years are going to be very eventful to say the least--HA!

Andrew & Jenna's Birthday Gift

Andrew & Jenna spoiled Kenny with a big envelope of Cars stuff---bath wash, puzzles, books.  He ate the goldfish for breakfast...and did a great job sharing the light-up bunnies with his brothers.  Thanks Andrew & Jenna:-)

Birthday Card from Hannah

Hannah (Kenny's favorite playmate in Michigan:-)....sent Kenny the sweetest card and stickers.  With the nice weather it's been a long time since he has sat at the kitchen table to do "art".  He had FUN with it (and me too:-).  Thanks Hannah!!

I just officially resigned from my job at GM in March.  One of my co-workers sent my desk nameplate:-)  I found the perfect place for it!  Makes me smile every morning and get into my "work" mindset!

Jacob is 13 months old!

Jacob is 13 months going on 3!  He's determined to do whatever Kenny does.  He tries to put shoes on his feet and hats on his head.  He's great at pushing even the smallest of buttons and has absolutely no fear or reservations about anything!  My life has become a little lower stress now that he's learned how to go down the steps.  I trust him with the 2 patio steps, but won't let him anywhere near the steps going upstairs.  Jacob has been struggling with separation anxiety over the last month.  Even when Darin is home, he cries for me--ugh!  I guess I should enjoy being so loved??  Jacob also has quite the temper and has taken to throwing himself down wherever he may be to show his displeasure with something.  The funny thing is that he gets a little smirk on his face before putting on this "show":-) 

John is 13 Months Old!

John continues to be our sweet, sensitive boy.  He's also a little prankster at heart--taking things from his brothers and laughing about it:-)  John has been struggling with sleep at night (story of his life)....but slept through last night. Aaaahhhhh.  He loves swinging and hanging out with his brothers.  He's still learning how to go down the steps onto the patio, and is content to stand on the top step and wait for someone to carry him down.

Arrison, Kenny & Keegan had a great time at the park picnicking today.  They're eating "dirt cupcakes"....cupcakes rolled in crushed oreos with a gummy worm on top:-)  What a fun morning celebration!
