It was John's turn to be Batman last night (we've been putting the babies in long sleeved onesies for bedtime now that we're not swaddling them anymore). He had a great night--maybe we need to dress him as a super hero every night??

Betty Crocker

Kenny has been playing with dishtowels lately. He came across my apron today. I explained what an apron was for and asked if we should put it on him so he could cook lunch. He was thrilled with the idea--and found it so funny! He headed down to the basement to cook. By the time I got down there he was playing tractors instead.

Kenny: the big bro

"Remote Mom", "Movie now Mom", "Ses Street Mom". These are phrases I hear throughout the morning. Kenny's talking is coming right along. He specializes in "Cars", "Fruit Snack", "Ice Cream".....like a broken record! He's a sweet big brother and all around boy. He's always making new friends on the playground and offering to share his toys and snacks. We couldn't be blessed with a sweeter 2-yr-old. Oh yay--and he's rocked potty training! Now we just need to tackle pulling down his own pants:-)

Jacob's 4 Months Old Too:-)

Jacob awoke all serious this morning and not in the mood for a photo session:-) He seems to be in a growth spurt--so hungry and anxious to eat! Jacob has been rolling over for a couple of weeks. It's so nice that he can reposition himself and get comfortable. He continues to be a happy and satisfied boy. Just don't make him mad! He has a long fuse, but once it reaches its end there's no turning back and it could take hours to calm him down:-( We're so thankful to have such a happy healthy boy. He's bound to be our little super hero!

John's 4 Months Old!!

It's hard to believe that 4 months has passed already since John entered our lives. He's turned into such a happy go-getter! He's not making any attempts at rolling over yet, but loves standing in the exersaucer and grabbing all the toys. His sleep has been a little more erratic the last couple of weeks....we're attributing that to a growth spurt and hoping for the best!? He loves girgling and talking, and he's started blowing bubbles in his bottle.

We were getting ready to head outdoors when I noticed black clouds moving in....plan B is Kenny "cooking supper" in the basement and J&J hanging out in the family room. At least the inclement weather resulted in a cute photo op!:-)

Jacob's Crazy Wake-Up

Kenny helped get Jacob up this morning. Jacob wasn't sure quite what to think--so much excitement so early in the morning. He'll have to get used to it....it's bound to be like this for the next 18 years:-)

Dance Party Planning

Kenny spent 15 minutes this morning sitting at the desk making phonecalls inviting people to his dance party. And I don't think it's any coincidence that Darin and I are going to be out of town this weekend either:-) Could this be a sign of things to come? Watch out neighborhood!

Fabulous Family

We've had wonderful visits with family over the last couple of days. My Aunt Nancy, Uncle Peter and cousin Anthony stopped by for dinner on Thursday night. Aunt Elaine & Uncle Frank were here on Friday to watch the boys while Darin and I went white water rafting, and Aunt Kathy and cousins Brandi and Robin stopped by Friday night. We enjoyed all the visits so much, but only ended up with one picture of Kathy feeding Jacob.

John tried, and promptly spit out his first bites of rice cereal. I guess we'll try again another day...maybe with an Iowa State bib rather than a Michigan one!?:-)

Kenny has been doing lots of practice baking in his play kitchen in the basement. We put all that practice to work today baking brownies and chocolate chip cookies. He excels at licking the spoon:-)

Monday Morning Pictures

Just another Monday morning around here. Everyone awoke happy and smiling, so it's bound to be a good day:-) Kenny has been busy cooking in the basement (he has a new play kitchen that he loves....I was thinking it would buy us all sorts of peace and quiet, but instead he cooks for 20 minutes, announces that "supper is ready", and demands we come down and sit at the table--ha ha!). Kenny has also been learning some of the states on his US map placemat. He knows Colorado, Michigan and Iowa...although he doesn't necessary know which is which. John is doing better with his sleeping at night. Growth spurt must be over?? And Jacob continues to be our happy, low-maintenance baby.

J&J were melting my heart yesterday. They were laying close to each other on the floor, and ended up holding hands for the longest time. It was too sweet for words. I might have to frame this picture as proof when they're duking it out in the years to come:-)

Rolling into the weekend:-)

It's only Thursday, but Darin is off tomorrow so we're rolling into the weekend! The boys were too cute in their red shirts....I had to bribe Kenny with a Cars fruit snack to sit on the sofa by his brothers, look at the camera and smile. He's turning into quite the little manipulator...earlier today he came up to me, pulled me down by the arm and gave me a big kiss. Of course this NEVER happens and my heart was filled with joy....UNTIL he followed the kiss with "fruit snack now mommy". Ha ha...and it's just the beginning....before I know it he'll be kissing me for the car keys:-)

Darin's been working really long hours at his new job. He usually showers and heads to work after the 4:30AM feeding! Needless to say, evenings are tough for him to stay awake. Jacob was having the same problem last night:-)

July 5 - RECOVERY!

It's been a low-key day here after our late night out to see the 4th of July fireworks! I enjoyed a 2-hr stretch in the afternoon when all 3 boys slept (that's completely unheard of--usually I get about 15 minutes of alone time--someone always seems to be awake:-). It gave me a chance to mop the floors...wahoo! Notice Kenny's new, red Cars shirt. He's begging for anything and everything Cars since seeing the 2nd movie. I had a weak moment at Target...

CARS 2

Darin took Kenny to Cars 2 this morning. I'm not sure who was more excited--Kenny or Darin:-) I was lobbying to all go and take the babies...maybe Kenny and I can go and see it together next weekend? h

Friday Night Lounging

Evenings are beautiful here in Colorado. We've been thoroughly enjoying our backyard. We ate outside tonight. Jacob & John cooperated for the pictures, but I literally had to pin Kenny down and tickled him to get a smile:-)
