Ashes ashes....we all fall down!

Or Kenny falls down anyway. He was trying to wrestle a log that Darin took out of the fire. Needless to say the log won. Kenny was amused by all the black soot though! I was just thankful he was still in his pajamas, which were on their way to the laundry basket anyway;-)

ACTION!

This picture is indicative of life in our household.....a flurry of action! Kenny is B-U-S-Y! His latest is opening the dvd case and taking the disc out. He then takes the remote and the disc up to the tv--intent on getting his own movie going.

We've had wonderful thunderstorms roll through this afternoon! The first wave was a quick shower, so we went right out and played in the water. It was no surprise that Kenny loved splashing in the puddles!

Neumeyer 4th of July BBQ

We had a WONDERFUL evening celebrating the 4th of July with the Neumeyer's. They have a beautiful acreage with a pond, sand pile, and DOGS! Kenny was in heaven and so were we:-) He especially loved the hay ride with all the kids. Keean became his new buddy! There was too much activity for photography...so these were the only pictures snapped:-( Thanks for throwing such a great party Neumeyers!

Sesame Street

Kenny loves Sesame Street....and decided he was going to watch it in the nude this morning. Toddlerhood comes with strong opinions....and I'm learning to pick my battles. This one just wasn't worth fighting:-)

Splash Pad....Fun?

We tried to go to the splash pad yesterday. It seemed like the perfect day, hot & sunny. But little drama king Kenny wasn't too thrilled with the water or the thought of getting wet. It didn't take long for us to retreat to the playground nearby.

Outside Fun with Elmo

Kenny is all of the sudden a big chicken when it comes to playing in the water outside!? Thankfully Elmo has a "mist" setting. Hopefully he'll embrace the water before summer's over!

Red Bull Air Show

We spent a couple of hours this afternoon in downtown Detroit at the Red Bull Air Races. The plans and helicopter were really loud, which Kenny loved! He also loved being so close to the water and made multiple attempts at reaching it.

Sleeping Angel

Kenny has been sleeping with his butt up in the air. Had to get a picture...it's too cute for words!

Memorial Day Hike

We headed back to the Ledges on Memorial Day for a hike. Kenny loved being on our shoulders for the ride....and having the leaves tickle his face. He laughed the entire time!!

SMORES!

Kenny LOVED munching on the graham crackers while the rest of use ate smores (he didn't care for the marshmallows...and there was no way I was giving him chocolate:-). It made for another messy faced, but happy boy. He had lots of love to share with the dog and cats too.

Ledges Picnic

We picked the hottest day of the weekend to picnic in the Ledges. The heat made the water feel really good though. Grandma Erb, Aunt Laura & Uncle Nate all played with Kenny in the water. What fun!

Iowa Mornings

Kenny and I spent Memorial Weekend in Iowa. The weather was so gorgeous, we spent our mornings on the patio. Eating oatmeal and kissing the dog made for a very messy face!
