It finally snowed in Michigan, and winter is officially here so I decided Kenny needed a real winter coat. I found a great deal on this warm coat--and it's so cute on him! Now we just need a little more snow so we can test it out!:-)
Kenny LOVES reading and anything paper. He spent lots of yesterday after my new magazine before I gave in. And Grandma Erb sent a new Christmas book. Lets hope this infatuation with reading materials continues for years to come!
Winter has definitely arrived--I don't think it made it out of the teens today! Needless to say, Kenny has lots of pent up energy without our evening walks. He was drumming on the footrests and dancing to the music on the t.v. It may be a long winter in Michigan!
So I thought a picture of Kenny in a warm sweater with the Christmas tree would be so nice.....20 pictures later.....I gave up. Our little boy is ACTIVE! Book, tree, stars...so many fun distractions as you can see:-)
Kenny's cheeks were so rosy a couple of days ago that I couldn't help but take a picture. Maybe I should submit to Campbell's--he sure looks like a "Campbell's Kid"!
Darin played "Mr. Mom" last weekend so I could visit my dear friend, Kim, in Fort Worth. We had a wonderful time, and felt right at home given the cold weather. I managed to make it through the weekend without purchasing a cowboy hat:-)
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week in Iowa complete with a rodeo (the cows were out early one morning), walks in the Ledges, TWO Thanksgiving dinners and lots of love from family. The week passed much too quickly and we're already looking forward to our return trip next month:-)
We're in Iowa for the entire Thanksgiving week--YAY! Kenny snuggled up with Great Grandpa Whattoff for some serious TV time (the only thing that keeps him sitting still these days!?). We're so Thankful for lots of loving family!
Kenny spent his first night with Grandma & Grandpa Bolthouse this weekend while Darin and I were at a wedding. I think we all had fun and can't wait to do it again. Thanks for all the fun Grandma & Grandpa!
Kenny loves this little ship and has gone from carefully picking one ball at a time to tipping the entire ship over. (We've started calling him our little brut). We took the ship over to our neighbor's for coffee this morning. Their 3-yr-old had a ball with it too, so I think it will be a toy inhabiting our living room for a long time to come!
One of my favorite things about having Darin at home is handing off the bath duty and spending that hour all by myself. (The boys have a great time without me too:-)
So Kenny wasn't too excited about the beaver hat that went along with the cozy outfit that Great Grandma Clara gave him. In his defense, it was a little small--more like a beanie than a hat. The second picture I had to post--can you see his two bottom teeth? Our little boy is growing up!
To celebrate the Cyclone's victory over the Nebraska Huskers, I dressed Kenny in his little ISU t-shirt. He wasn't so impressed at first, but then I described the history of this rivalry and he became much more excited:-) We're working on the fight song next!
Trick-or-Treat is just two days away! We have candy to hand out and a costume for Kenny (his fat little monkey belly makes it look like we've been feeding him candy:-).
I got a much needed break from my mommy world and visited my good friend Melanie in Milwaukee. We had a wonderful weekend that kicked off with the Pistons vs Bucks basketball game. We chatted through most of the game though...oops!?:-)
Darin & Kenny had a great weekend without me! Darin dressed Kenny in his Michigan outfit and headed to G&G Bolthouse's house to watch the game. Too bad it wasn't much of a showing for Michigan.....at least Kenny looked cute:-)
I took Kenny to his first baby shower and he was a complete wreck. But the mysterious behavior was solved when his nose turned into a spigot after we got home. Poor boy is congested....not exactly what we needed on top of teething:-( Kenny's been a trooper though, and still loves his jumper despite his illness!
Darin and I have both been taking advantage of the toy basket for corralling Kenny:-) He's getting better with sitting up every day though, so this stage is sure to be short:-(
It was downright cold here last week, so Kenny and I had to bundle up for our late afternoon walk. Kenny quickly fell asleep in his stroller--it's no wonder as warm and cozy as he was. Thanks for the "Bundle Me" Aunt Caroline!
